Swatch Wars!

Today's Swatch War features Revlon's ColorBurst Lipgloss in Hot Pink versus Bath & Body Work's Liplicious Tasty Lip Color in Watermelon Sorbet.

I recently received a sample of Revlon's Hot Pink, so I don't have an actual picture of the tube to show, but here are the promotional pictures of each product:

One of the obvious differences between the two products is the application method. Revlon's comes with a wand, and B&BW's comes in a squeeze tube with a slant tip applicator. That right there usually makes it or breaks it for some people. I, personally, don't mind either way.

Revlon: Hot Pink is slightly darker and kind of pulls fuschia on me. It has no particular scent and isn't overly sticky/tacky. It does, however, have bigger bits of silver glitter - you can kind of see them better in the second swatch picture. Revlon lipglosses usually run around $7.49 in most drugstores, unless there's a sale.

B&BW: Watermelon Sorbet is definitely a sheer, bright pink. Unlike the Revlon, it smells and tastes exactly like artificial watermelon. It is sticker than the Revlon, but it's smoother in the fact that it has micro glitter, as opposed to the bigger pieces. Bath & Body Works lipglosses run around $7, but they almost always have a 3 for $15 sale going on, so it's not a bad price.

Both lipglosses wear off evenly after a little bit, depending on how much drinking/eating/talking you do.

In the end, I prefer Bath & Body Works. The color is more flattering on me, I much prefer micro glitter over noticeable pieces, and I like the scent/taste better. Plus, I love the fact that I can usually get three B&BW glosses for the price of two Revlon ones, no coupons or pharmacy-bucks required.
